Commentary
Blurring the line between functional and sculptural ceramics, this earthenware box contains a yellow and black dry engobe, or slightly liquid clay-based glaze, that gives the exterior form a matte finish. This work was acquired by Frieda Bradsher in Minnesota on one of her many studio tours across the U.S.
