Clinton Adams
20th Century Modern Painter, printmaker
American, (December 11, 1918–May 13, 2002) An artist, author, teacher, and art historian, Adams is remembered especially for the renaissance that he and June Wayne, whose work is also in the Museum's collection, led in lithography. Together they began the Tamarind Lithography Workshop in the early 1960s in Los Angeles. Clinton Adams was included in the exhibition, "15 American Painters," at the Long Beach Museum of Art in 1957. In 1999, Adams returned to Long Beach for his retrospective, "Twenty-five Lithographs from Fifty Years."
