Medium and Support: Stoneware

Commentary
This stoneware vase has a smooth unglazed buff surface, decorated with etched lines that are then pinched to reveal the surface underneath. While Pérez works intuitively, his vessels often allude obliquely to the patterns and designs found in pre-Columbian weaving or to natural occurrences such as the motions of a wave or the stratification of the earth.
