Commentary
In "Untitled (Oval Vase)" of 2000, the elegant verticality of this slightly tapered vessel is subtly accentuated by the long-flowing, sensuous brown and black lines the artist has etched into its surface. By pinching "dimples" into the vessel, at two points along its edge, Perez has created a beautiful counterpoint to the serene perfection of the form.
