Commentary
The story of 'St. Peter Restoring the Lame Man,' recounted in the Book of Acts in the Bible, presents another testimony to the redemptive power of faith.

As Christ's disciples Peter and John were on their way to the temple to pray, they encountered a man who had been lame from birth. When he asked for money, Peter told him "I have no silver and gold, but I give you what I have; in the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, walk." And he took him by the right hand and lifted him up. The man's feet and ankles became strong and he walked with the disciples "leaping and praising God."

Again, the artist has chosen a highly dramatic moment in the story - the moment the lame man rises to walk on his own.
