Commentary
This drawing was done after Adams' discharge from the Army Air Force. In 1946, he resumed his faculty position at UCLA. He remembers his Los Angeles years with warmth. "We were a community of artists in those years. I enjoyed dialogues with my colleagues at UCLA where I taught painting until 1954...I joined forces with those who combated the McCarthyist attacks upon Modern art and I worked with June Wayne to establish the Tamarind Lithography Workshop in 1960."
