Commentary
Myers celebrates the significance of the "arch" in this sculpture. He incorporates a variety of shapes that could be architectural elements, cactus, plants, or a collection of organically shaped pottery forms like lids, handles, and saucers. Using a low fire glaze, Myers unifies architectural and organic shapes with one monochromatic color. The glaze contains a small amount of chrome that appears green when thinly applied. The subtle sparkle is the result of zinc crystals.
