Commentary
This salt fired porcelain tumbler contains glazes in green, blue and black on the exterior and is decorated with linear designs scratched into the clay. Frieda Bradsher acquired this piece from her good friend, Richard Oelschlaeger, whose work is also in this exhibition, and which he obtained at an Archie Bray workshop in Montana. The Archie Bray Foundation has been a significant center for the ceramic arts since the 1950s.
