Commentary
"Imagery from nature predominates in the decoration of my terra-cotta dishes. Fruit is a favorite subject and I often work it up into high relief. Fruits are a pure affirmation of life and fertility. A pot's surface lends itself to patterning or imaging, and therefore to the development of ideal space (that of painting). The potential for ideal space to coexist with the real space of a pot is a very important characteristic of ceramic art." -Farraday Newsome
