Commentary
This wheel-thrown, stoneware vase is glazed in ash and reddish brown with vertical incised lines in the body and heavy throwing lines on the neck. Ellen Shankin has said of her work, “I have been making pots from more than 30 years now…I think there is a deep appreciation for the grace and beauty of well made functional pots.”
