Created at her Pond Farm studio, this stoneware bowl reflects Marguerite Friedlander Wildenhain’s use of raw energy and vitality, which sets it apart from the pure utilitarian tradition. Her work represents an extremely important transition between German pre-war and California post-war ceramic traditions. Other examples of her work are included in the adjacent All Fired Up exhibition.
